Candle Care
So you have chosen your new home accessory wisely. Here's how to treat it with kindness and care.
- We recommend letting your candle burn until there is a 1/4" layer of melted wax on top. This will help the candle maintain an even burn throughout, and prevent tunneling.
- If you can, try to avoid blowing out your candle in order to protect yourself from hot wax and to prevent a build-up of soot on the inside of your jar.
- If you are able, use a snuffer to put out your candle instead. A snuffer is a bell-shaped tool that allows you to put out the flame of your candle safely and prevent the wick from mushrooming.
- A wick dipper is also a great tool to use instead of blowing out your candle. Simply dip the flame into the melted wax and bend the wick back up.
- Some sources say using the lid to snuff out the flame works, but we do not recommend this as our metal lids tend to retain heat and we don't want you to burn yourself!
- Never burn your candle for more than 4 hours and always keep an eye on it while it's lit.
Be mindful, relax and enjoy, candle babes!
